Cute Is What We Aim For Broke Up?D:

Two days ago I was wearing a Cute Is What We Aim For band shirt. (For those who do not know Cute Is What We Aim For, go look up their song "Time", my personal favorite.) My friend, Rebecca, started to jab my shirt and she kept on saying, "DID YOU KNOW? DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THEM? THEY BROKE UP!" My response? "I WON'T ALLOW THAT TO HAPPEN! GFLCKHLCF,NBFLKCGNJCKFLNB KFJCBN!" We were sobbing over them breaking up, we were planning on seeing them live together. So, what I'm wondering is did they really break up? Supposedly, Shaant wanted to go solo, but is that true? What happened to Cute Is What We Aim For? Everybody seems to be breaking up...Derek Whibley from Sum 41 and Avril Lavigne broke up and now Cute Is What We Aim For? The world is falling apart. Next thing you know, Andrew McMahon decides to quit music. If that ever happens, I will fail at life.
Here's just one more picture for old times sake!

Maggie's Pencil Case!

Super quick post because I'm chatting with Maggie and Tiffany! This is Maggie's pencil case and it's pretty insane! It's a chocolate and strawberry cream pastry. SO CUTE! As you can see, there's a little strawberry hanging off the side! Let's take a look inside!
Ooh! Highlighters! But that's not what's so cool about them! Check it out. Look at the tips! The thin point is for writing and the thick point is for highlighting. Maggie got them in Taiwan and I love them! I obsess over them every time I see them! They're amazingly awesome!

My amazing collection of Hi-Chew!

If you grew up in an Asian populated town, like me, you probably love Hi-Chew. Hi-Chew is basically the Asian version of Starburst. Unlike Starburst, there is only one flavor in each pack. Over the summer I started to collect Hi-Chews because I was bored. Boredom can lead to beautiful things.  I have American Cherry, Mixed Fruit, Ruby Red Orange, Aloe Yogurt, Dragonfruit, Strawberry, Apple, Strawberry Cheesecake, Mango, Melon, Lemon, Grape, and Orange. Unfortunately, the flavors that are in bold, I ate some and were no longer good for taking pictures of. All of them are super amazingly tasty, but Apple is my favorite. Madeline's favorite is Strawberry, Kylie's favorite is Lemon, and my dad's favorite is Melon. There are so many other flavors out there that I want to try such as: Peach(my second favorite fuit), Blueberry, Lychee(my favorite fuit), Golden Pineapple, Kiwi, Yogurt, Coke, Watermelon(my third favorite fuit), Passion Fruit, Ramune(Japanese Soda), Lemon Soda, Yuzu, Lime, Grapefruit, Melon Soda, and Banana. I think that's almost every flavor. The soda flavored Hi-Chews have little fizzy crystals in them that make them feel like soda. My friend, Riho, loved to eat the soda ones. My brother's friend, Kylie, carried around 5 flavors of Hi-Chew in her purse at all times. You can get Hi-Chew in any Asian populated area like Chinatown, Little Tokyo, and Asian Airports. Hi-Chew is also avialble at the Hi-Chew booth at Anime Conventions! Which flavor should you get? Well in my experience, I have never found a bad flavor of Hi-Chew. You should probably get a flavor of a fuit that you really like. DON'T DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS! "Well, online a person said that any flavor is good, so I'll get Mango even though I hate mangoes...." Good bye! I hope I just enlightened you on Hi-Chew.

OMG! I JUST GOT THE NEW MUSE ALBUM!

WARNING! THIS IS GOING TO BE A LONG POST!
Yes, it's the NEW MUSE ALBUM! It's The Resistance! (insert fan girl scream here!) I have been waiting for this album since June 10th, the day my friends, Tristin and John, told me that this magnificent CD would be coming out today. The VMAS got me more hyped up than I already was for this CD with Muse performing "Uprising". I think there are only three people on this planet who were more excited about this CD than me. Yes, it's Tristin, John, and Nao. Immediately after school today I ran to Target and got the CD! (I didn't preorder it because my mom doesn't like buying things off the internet.) Now all I need is a Muse shirt! I've listened to The Resistance around eight or ten times now and I know which songs I think are the best.
Ok so here's a break down of the album:
Uprising: This will probably be the most popular song off the whole album because it's the one that's being advertised the most. It's a really good song, but not the best song on the whole album.
Resistance: The beginning of this song reminded me of Japanese dance music because of the keyboard in the beginning. In fact before the singing started I was thinking, "Oh my goodness....Muse is changing to dance music!" Once the singing started I was thinking to myself that this song could possibly be the catchiest song on the whole album! Once I finished the song, I knew that this song is going to be in my head tomorrow and I will sing it in class. The chorus is super catchy! Muse sings, "It could be wrong, could be wrong. It could never last. It could be wrong, could be wrong. Must erase it fast. It could be wrong, could be wrong. But it could've been right. It could be wrong, could be wrong. LOVE IS OUR RESISTANCE!" As you can see, I absolutely positively loved this song!
Undisclosed Desires: Muse is an English band and it really shows during this song. The beginning notes just sound so English! I'm trying to figure out which instrument is playing those first catchy notes. It sounds like a violin being plucked, but could easily be a keyboard. Yes, two very different instruments can sound alike with enough editing.
United States of Eurasia: This song sounds like it should have been a Queen song. It reminds me of "We Are the Champions" by Queen in the beginning. Then after this burst of excitement, it mixes in some Thai sounding music and then returns back to sounding like Muse. I recommend this to all Queen fans. The voice of Matthew Bellamy can definitely challenge the voice of Freddie Mercury. Tristin actually pointed out to me that at the end you can hear a plane fly and then crash.
Guiding Light: Muse immediately starts things off with powerful drum music that impressed me. Of course I am easily impressed by Muse. The vocals on this sound incredibly strong.
Unnatural Selection: Muse sounded like Coldplay in the beginning but immediately got rid of that with some stunning guitar action. This song is a bit headbang-ish for Muse....
MK Ultra: The beginning guitar part with the electric sound reminded me of a Japanese pop band. To be specific the guitar sound like the beginning in "Sakura Sake" by Arashi! The end guitar part is pretty hardcore even with the tweeting sound in the background. The beginning and end thoroughly wowed me.
I Belong To You: The lyrics made me laugh. Muse sings on this track," When the pillars get pulled down, it will be you who wears the crown." Now tell me that didn't make you laugh. The whole song emphasizes how this girl is cruel, bossy , and hurts him but yet he loves her. Matthew does a bit of opera sounding singing on this. This song has a slight jazz feel to it at the same time.
Exogenesis: Symphony Part 1: John told me this song is about when the world ends and they're the only ones left.
Exogenesis: Symphony Part 2: John told me this song was about them going to space to find a new place for them to live.
Exogenesis: Symphony Part 3: John said this song was about them finding a new place and setting up society.
All of the Exogenesis Symphonies are really quite beautiful. Muse really focuses on the piano and creates absolutely stunning music that is also very calming. The Exogenesis Symphonies prove that Muse isn't just another band trying to be rock stars. They're actually musicians. I felt that this album focused a lot more on piano/keyboard and less on guitar than Muse usually does...I actually really liked all the piano music because it reminded me of Jack's Mannequin.
Ok, so this post is going to say that this was written on 9/16/09. The truth is I started this on 9/15/09, but didn't finish the Exogenesis review until today. I needed to talk to John, Tristin, and Nao about the album before this could truly be a good review of the album.
As John says," The only problem with Muse is that they're too good."

Back to School, the Green Way :D

This is my stunning new composition book made of bagasse. What is bagasse? Bagasse is the fiber left over from sugar cane that has been juiced. Once the sugar cane is juiced for its sugar, the bagasse it all that's left. Bagasse works just as well as tree-based paper. This helps save the environment because we no longer have to cut down as many trees. Instead we just use the trash from sugar canes to make new paper. Trash just got more important.

I thought the cover was awfully plain so I drew all over it with Sharpies! I'm not sure how environmentally damaging or non damaging Sharpies are....But my composition book is still pretty darn green. Why? I would have used the Sharpies anyways to decorate my book, so it doesn't matter if Sharpies are environmentally damaging because the book is green.
Time to talk about the awesome decorations! I wrote lyrics to a whole bunch of songs on my notebook and drew a hot air balloon with Nickasaur in it. The "fear of flying" in cursive and the "Baby, we're invincible" are from a singer called A Rocket to the Moon. The lyrics right next to the red heart is from Nickasaur and everything else on it is related to Andrew McMahon somehow....My favorite part is where in dark blue sharpie says, "Give Andy a reason." It's the best part because it has to do with when Andrew had leukemia and he needed a reason to go on. On the border, I drew a pattern of all the different playing card symbols. (Heart, Club, Diamond, Spade)
The back is basically just a dedication to my two favorite musicians, Jack's Mannequin and Nickasaur. It's super simple, but I decided to dress it up a bit with my favorite type-y face.

9 (The Movie)

I saw 9 on 9/9/09 in theater 9. I watch everything made by Tim Burton because his movies aren't really for adults or kids. The films are animated and cute, which usually doesn't attract a huge adult fan base. His films are usually creepy, which freaks out little kids. 9 is an animated post-apocalyptic film in which anything human is threatened. I loved it, but my mom thought it was weird. 9 is sort of confusing and doesn't answer every question, but it does make you wonder if all of these machines that are made to help make life more comfortable are really necessary. If you are a fan of Tim Burton movies, like me, you should definitely see 9. I thought it was a great movie.
Here is a quick summery of 9:
A scientist creates a robot that creates more robots that eventually started to kill off humanity. The same scientist in an attempt to save the spark of life, creates 9 heroes (pictured above ^^). It's up to these 9 heroes to get rid of the rest of the machines and save the spark of life from the evil robots. Five of the 9 heroes die in the end (1, 2, 5, 6, and 8). In the end, the spark of life is saved and only four heroes are left to start life again.
GO SEE IT NOW!  MY SUMMARY WAS AWFUL AND THE STORY IS A LOT BETTER IN THE MOVIE THAN MY LAME SUMMARY!

Madeline's Gifts :3

My friend, Madeline, and I always get gifts for each other when we go on vacations. This year Madeline brought back some really awesome gifts for me. She traveled all over the western half of the USA. The truffles up above are from a Swedish Bakery called Erick Schat's in California. The flavors are (from left to right) peanut butter, milk chocolate mousse, and Irish Creme. My dad and I split each of the truffles. Both of us thought that the Irish Creme was the best. Then the peanut butter, then the milk chocolate mousse.
The little basket was handmade by Native Americans. It is made of pine needles. It smells really good! Madeline either got it in New Mexico or Arizona. I'm not too sure about that...The big black shiny thing is actually real obsidian rock! I'm not sure where she got that either...The obsidian rock weighs a lot more than it looks. And by that, I mean a lot heavier.

It's Easy Being Green!

Despite Kermit's song,"It's Not Easy Being Green", I believe it is easy being green. The tiniest steps can amount to something eventually. Today, I will be showing you something easy that prevents animals from choking to death. You need the rings that keep soda cans or bottles together! (Example of the rings above! ^^)
Then you take a pair of scissors and the rings.
You cut a slit in each ring.
Then you cut the former ring thing-y in half. So you are left with no holes for animals to swim through. If there are any holes left, cut a slit through them. Then toss them in the recycle garbage can. (Example of finished project up above! ^^) What do you do with the cans after wards? You drink them and then recycle them! See? It is easy being green.
